“Maybe it’s true that life begins at 50… but everything else starts to wear out, fall out, or spread out.” – Phyllis Diller
Keep your body moving and stop the dreaded “spread” of aging at our on-site, professionally staffed Life Strides Fitness Center, co-designed by the National Institute for Fitness and Sport. Regular exercise also releases endorphins – the feel good happy hormone – that can combat depression, reduce anxiety and boost your self-esteem. Age and ability-appropriate exercise programs are available for all ISC members.
The fitness center will be open through the end of June 2012 and provides resistance-training, cardiovascular equipment, plus a variety of fun classes for balance, stretching, and building core body strength. ISC also offers Yoga and Zumba classes twice a week.
The fitness center is open Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, 8:oo a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Please contact ISC Fitness Instructor Judy Donovan to schedule an initial evaluation to design your customized workout plan and set goals that will help you get or stay fit. She may be reached at 317.263.8282.
Fitness Center Updates: With the closing of ISC at the end of June, participants at the fitness center, one of our larger programs, are moving to the YMCA, NIFS, The Legacy Center and JCC. Additionally, participants are being provided a list of free locations that are available through American Senior Community Sites.
